Life Preservers Project Welcomes New Advisory Committee Member

Life Preservers Project announced the recent addition of Jessie Torres to its advisory committee. Jessie is the Discovery Team Manager at Berger Singerman’s Miami office and a member of the Dispute Resolution team. He holds a JD from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center and is a barred attorney in Florida. Jessie also has a M.S. from Florida State University and B.A. from the University of Miami.

“We welcome Jessie Torres to the advisory committee and look forward to the value his leadership will bring to the Life Preservers family,” said Michael Quartararo, Executive Director of Life Preservers Project.  “As we continue our focus on expansion, the depth of knowledge and relevant experience that Jessie brings will provide valuable perspective that will contribute to the programming we create and our fundraising efforts.”

The key purpose of Life Preserver Project’s Advisory Committee is to provide the Board of Directors with recommendations and input around programming and initiatives and help to assess the impact of programs, projects, and events.  The committee also assists with fundraising, technical, and marketing assistance. Jessie will be working directly with our founder, Shana Pederson, and with Cat Casey, our director of fundraising initiatives, and Maribel Rivera, our director of marketing on community engagement primarily in the state of Florida but also as we continue to expand.

Jessie Torres expressed his gratitude about his addition to the team with the following statement, “I am extremely honored to join the Advisory Board of Life Preservers Project. Martin Luther King once said, “No work is insignificant. All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence.” I hope to bring a similar diligence to raising awareness and providing resources to survivors.”
